How to improve the safety of batteries?
387 2023-06-19
In the power lithium-ion battery safety realization, from the perspective of battery companies, what aspects should be specifically improved to truly prevent, through in-depth exchanges with industry experts, upstream and downstream companies in the industry chain, put forward the following suggestions:
First, in the choice of materials, the choice of core materials is related to the safety of the final cell product, which will directly affect it.
The safety of the battery cell largely depends on the core material, especially for the high-nickel ternary system, the metal foreign body content of the cathode material, residual lithium and PH value will have a great impact on the safety performance of the battery cell.
The second is to do a good job of safety redundancy and monitoring early warning in the design of batteries, modules, packs and process Settings.
In the design process, the first is to ensure the chemical stability of the battery cell, to select a stable material, and test its stability through strict evaluation; In the module part, the cell is protected from impact by the structure. The third stage is pack. In addition to physical protection measures, the key is to fault diagnose the core module through BMS, monitor the occurrence of anomalies, and predict possible problems, so as to control the problem.
Third, in the prenatal testing and verification, we should do a good job of verification.
In fact, this is the current domestic power lithium-ion battery field is currently facing the biggest problem, on the one hand, the rapid replacement of products, on the other hand, the test and verification to consume time and power and the lack of design reference related experience, which is also an important reason for the frequent accidents in recent years.
